America’s Counter-Revolution

by Ted Flint

Donald Trump is radically transforming the federal government in a way not seen since FDR implemented his New Deal nearly 100 years ago. First and foremost, Trump has secured our southern border. Members of both parties have been allegedly trying to do that for decades and have been unable or unwilling to see it through. The Biden-Harris Administration permitted the entry of some 12 million illegal aliens to destroy our economy. It’s the Cloward-Piven strategy which calls for overwhelming the system by providing “free” housing, healthcare, and education to illegals and other welfare recipients.  To make that happen the federal government would have to guarantee a minimum income. Marx and Engels would be proud. But the free ride is over. The Administration has overseen the deportation of 100,000 criminal aliens, while roughly one million illegal entrants have self-deported. National sovereignty is back in style.

Many of the social and cultural policies that have divided this nation are being rolled back. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion mandates are dissolving like dust in the wind. Thanks to an executive order the President signed earlier this year, under Title IX, biological men will no longer be allowed to compete in women’s sports in federally funded educational institutions.

Colleges and universities have agreed to abide by federal civil rights laws and no longer discriminate on the basis of race in hiring, promotions, admissions or awarding tenure. Imagine institutions of higher learning actually following free speech canons laid out in our Bill of Rights to permit the free exchange of ideas in the classroom. That is real diversity and the Left hates it.

On the foreign policy front, there is progress being made in the Russia- Ukraine War; Iran’s nuclear ambitions have been dealt a severe setback; Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro has had his wings clipped, as his country and Mexico are finding more difficult to ply their fentanyl trade.

Across the country legislation is being adopted to strengthen Second Amendment laws which guarantee American citizens the right to keep and bear arms. Progressives have long maintained that right is a collective right, but recent Supreme Court decisions have ruled the right extends to the individual.

Many economists have warned that tariffs would lead to a recession. That hasn’t happened. In fact, there are signs the economy is gathering steam. Those of us old enough to remember the Carter years, recall the long gas lines, high unemployment, and double-digit inflation (the misery index) of the 1970’s. The naysayers warned the Reagan tax cuts, and deregulation plan would make things worse. But in 1983, the economy began to hum, tens of thousands of private-sector jobs were created and the democrat handmaidens in the media overnight dropped their derogatory references to “Reaganomics.” As great as Reagan was, Trump is an even more impactful president. Tariffs have severely reduced America’s trade deficit and raised billions of dollars in additional revenue. There is even talk of abolishing the income tax, with which we’ve been saddled since 1913.

The Left will claim it has had some success in thwarting Trump’s conservative populism, but its victories are few and far between. Donald Trump stands on the precipice of ushering in a new era in America, one of individual freedom and prosperity. This is the change for which 77 million Americans voted.
