As events unfold in Los Angeles and numerous cities around the country, I am reminded of Chicago, site of the 1968 Democratic National Convention, and the riots and chaos that ensued as thousands of “protesters” egged on by outside agitators, held the city hostage for several days.

One difference, then Democratic Mayor Richard Daley did not describe the events as “peaceful protests.” One thing is crystal clear: today’s Democrat Party is the Party of lawlessness. Democrats favor the criminal class over the law-abiding and have contempt for law enforcement.

LA Mayor Karen Bass has sided with the “protesters” who are against ANY deportations. California Governor Gavin Newsome has characterized President Trump’s deployment of California’s National Guard as “illegal,” dangerous,” and a “brazen abuse of power. “Trump is doing what Newsome either couldn’t or wouldn’t do: quell the violence of the “mostly peaceful protests.” What is peaceful about throwing bricks at police officers, burning cars and destroying private property? Did President Kennedy ask Alabama Governor George Wallace for permission to federalize that state’s national guard when Wallace refused to admit black students into the University of Alabama?

These demonstrations are not spontaneous as the media would have us believe, they are well-organized and funded by what the Heritage Foundation describes as a “revolutionary ecosystem, “the same organisms that supported the BLM riots and the pro-terrorist protests on college campuses in 2023 and 2024. Their target is America, as evidenced by the “Death to America” banners flying at many of these protests.

Homeland Security Chief Tom Homan has made it clear: If you impede federal agents from doing their job, you are committing a felony; if you harbor illegal aliens, you are committing a felony. It is not complicated. Even a liberal democrat can understand it. Governor Newsome is in violation of federal law, as are democrat governors in blue states who provide haven for illegals via “sanctuary state” or “sanctuary city” status. President Trump has threatened to defund sanctuary cities for permitting safe havens for illegals.

Thanks to the Biden-Harris open borders policy, 12 million people illegally entered this country over the last four years. That’s 3 million a year. We would have to deport 8,000 of illegals a day, every day to rid the country of these law breakers. I hope Trump does it. According to a CBS News poll, 57 percent of Americans want every illegal migrant gone. This is the policy for which 77 million Americans voted. We want our borders secure. We want civil order. We want criminals to pay a severe price for breaking the law. That does not make us racist, or xenophobic, it makes us safer. And public safety is government’s main function or should be. It is the reason government was formed in the first place.

For those who say I.C.E.’s methods are unconstitutional, they are mistaken. As Border Czar Tom Holman has pointed out, I.C.E. is enforcing the laws enacted by congress. Much to the chagrin of many democrats, we are still a nation of laws and there are consequences for those who step outside the law. If you don’t like the laws, change the congress. It’s that simple. The American people didn’t like the direction in which the country was heading; providing invaders with free housing, free education and free healthcare, so November 5, there was a major course correction. Right now, President Trump and the republicans are running the show.

Interesting how liberals have suddenly discovered states’ rights when it comes to border security. Usually, the Left wants to centralize governmental authority, that is unless a conservative occupies the Oval Office.

This nation has been under siege for years, not just from an illegal invasion, but from policies enacted by congressional democrats and signed into law by democratic presidents. That siege has ended.
