The PAC Perspective by Ted Flint
There is a new sheriff in town. That was never made more evident than in last week’s speech by Secretary of War (love the new old title for that Office) Pete Hegseth. His message was straight forward: military personnel will be physically and mentally equipped for battle. And who in their right minds could be against that? If you were to serve in the trenches with other men on whom your life depends, wouldn’t you want them to be in killing shape? I would.
The purpose of the military, as Rush Limbaugh so famously pointed out, is to “kill people and break things. “It is no place for social experiments the way it has been since Obama ascended to the Oval Office. Those days are over; says Hegseth:” No more Identity Months, D.E.I. Offices, Dudes in Dresses, Climate Worship. “We are done with that s - - t.” How refreshing. America’s military will, from this day forward, be the fittest and smartest fighting force on the planet. The armed forces are no place for quotas, or “equity.” For the simple reason that not everyone is equal in physical or mental ability. Women are generally not equal to men in physical strength or stamina. Therefore, they should not be in combat roles. There certainly is a place for women in the military, just not on the front lines. Women have a storied history in the U.S. military, nobly serving our nation in the WACS and WAVES in World War Two.
Basket of Deplorables 2.0
Hillary Clinton’s recent critique of white males (didn’t she marry one?) is not only laughable, but scary. That a woman so readily willing to vilify our heritage was nearly elected president speaks to the depth of our cultural rot. Speaking recently on MSNBC’s “The Morning Joe,” the former First Lady opined on the current leadership: “They are trying to recreate a world that never was, dominated by, let’s say it, white men of a certain persuasion, certain religion, certain point of view, certain ideology.” In other words, let’s just say it, straight, Christian, white males. Then she pontificated further claiming Christian men leading, “is doing such damage to what we should be aiming for. We were on a path toward that, we were on the right trajectory.” Well, Mrs. Clinton, 77 million Americans disagree with that assessment. That is why you and your fellow leftists are out looking in. I think the phrase Clinton was trying NOT to say is Christian Nationalism, because that may frighten a lot of people who should know better. Our nation’s founders were mostly Christian white men of a “certain persuasion,” who loved our country, which shoots down her assertion that today’s leaders are “trying to recreate a world that never was.”
The Schumer Shutdown
The Party of Government is aghast over the latest government “shutdown” in which all non-essential federal employees (insert joke here) are not to report to work. Of course, they will all receive back pay once the shutdown is over, which could be by the time this column goes to print. House Republicans introduced a Continuing Resolution to extend current funding levels until November 21. Democrats are looking to restore $1.5 trillion dollars in additional spending, which includes extending Affordable Care Act premium tax credits (which reduce consumer costs) set to expire under current law and reversing recent Medicaid “reductions.” They also want to expand federal health care coverage, including to non-citizens. Evidently, they were not paying attention to what transpired November 5.
The real story behind the shutdown is Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s unwillingness to confront his Party’s left-wing base. He knows AOC is gunning for his job, and he is just trying to protect what little influence he has left. AOC will undoubtedly at some point seek higher office, or at the very least will be Gavin Newsome’s Vice-Presidential choice in 2028. From bartending to the U.S. House to potentially the White House; only in America.
